Take a look at the list below, this is where the time and money go............. $25 trains a CASA volunteer to be a voice for a child in court, $147 sponsors one Cub Scout for a year, $56 trains one person in American Red Cross lifesaving skills, $117 pays for food, shelter, case management and therapy for one person, one day in a Family Services Association domestic violence case, $20 provides one of five instruction books used by the Literacy Coalition that a student needs to pass the GED, $50 pays for one Girl Scout's membership, uniform and a book, $70 sponsors a child in the Youth Basketball League at Carver Center, $149 provides visiting hospice service by Visiting Nurse Service to clients needing medical equipment and care for one day, It costs the Mental Health Association $225 to screen, train and match a "Befriend Program" volunteer to a mental health consumer, $15 allows a child to attend a one-hour swim lesson through the YMCA, $25 educates a special needs preschooler for half a day at Bona Vista, $50 pays for two hours respite for a Samaritan Caregiver volunteer to stay with a homebound loved one, $198 is the assistance needed for monthly utilities for an average household provided by The Salvation Army, $20 provides a low-income, uninsured person a month of prescription medication through the Pharmaceutical Assistance Program at Project Access that has a retail value of $200, $1 allows Food Finders Food Bank to feed a family three nutritious meals.
