United Way announces $1.7 million goal met and exceeded!

The 2011 "Step Up, Step Out, Step Forward" is complete. Thank you to our great community for helping us reach that goal! $1,780,253.27 was the final amount announced! Thank you all for "Stepping Up" to make this challenge a reality!


Our Mission Statement:
We believe in the transforming power of compassion and cooperation. The United Way of Howard County provides the leadership necessary to identify and respond effectively to the community's most pressing social needs. Through funding and advocacy, we organize and increase the capacity of people to care for one another.


To advance the common good of our community, your United Way supports 16 member agencies and collaborates with many other partners. The following are member agencies and initiatives your support put into action.

Funded programs: American Red Cross, Bona Vista, Boy Scouts, CASA, Carver Community Center, Family Service Association, Food Finders, Girl Scouts, 2-1-1, United Way of Howard County, Literacy Coalition, Mental Health Association, Project Access, Samaritan Caregivers, The Salvation Army, YMCA, VNS
