The mission of Project Access is to provide access to healthcare services to the uninsured residents of Howard County. Project Access also provides Diabetes Navigation to any patient of a local healthcare provider, regardless of county of residence.

After enrollment, Project Access clients are assigned a primary care home. Physicians donate their services, at no cost to the client. If required, hospitalization is provided free to the client, with both local hospitals actively supporting and participating in this program. Over 2,000 individuals and $8.6 million dollars worth of health services have been documented as being donated since this program began in September 2004.
