4Community Updates

Kokomo Urban Outreach and United Way's 4Community neighborhoods have started making plans to improve their communities already! Committees have been formed and will help plan and coordinate ways to improve the neighborhoods they live in. Pine Valley and the St. Patrick Church neighborhood (between Washington and Phillips and Jefferson and North) are the two areas that have been picked as pilot neighborhoods.

Pine Valley is working on a homework club to help tutor students after school. They have also formed a committee to get computers.

Wabash/Broadway is restructuring Crime Watch areas and getting recycling bins.

4Community partnership is designed to strengthen families by fostering an alliance within the community and using local resources for improvements. 4Community is facilitated by the United Way of Howard County and partially funded by IaUW.
