Live bands, family entertainment opening acts for food

The United Way of Howard County is preparing for the 11th annual Taste of Kokomo – voted Kokomo’s best event six years in a row – which will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, from 5 p.m. to midnight.

This year’s band line up includes something for everyone -- from Christian rock to classic rock and everywhere in between. Bands include: Falling Higher, Zero Hour, Joe Cameron Band, Southside, Joe Blo Risin, Sneekers, Roger’s Ritual, Rewind, 10 Second Verdict, Uncle Jimi, and Bobby Blue and the Wreckin Crew.

Patrons of the event are encouraged to bring their kids who will enjoy a Velcro wall, moonwalk, temporary tattoos and much more!

Volunteers are still needed for one or more three-hour shifts as follows:  7-10 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.-midnight. Volunteers are needed to assist with the following tasks:  set-up, admissions, food tickets, Coke trailers, supervision of the kids area, checking id’s, bartending, selling T-shirts, and tear-down. Feel free to sign up as an individual or a group (business, family, church, etc.).
